I do what I do now because of a journey that I took to get rid of my anxiety, which was caused by a couple of things by post-traumatic stress and also hormonally.

At the back of the day, when I first started this journey about 18 years ago, I wasn't getting the right diagnosis and didn't really get the right diagnosis until about like eight years ago, believe it or not.

But my journey is I I began as a school psychologist.

I was working in the schools with children and families, and then I I was in a school system that didn't have enough.

I was working in the schools and I got pregnant with my first daughter, took a leave of absence with the full intention that I would eventually go back to my position, and after I took that leave, I went through some postpartum depression, a lot of hormonal stuff, and then I went on the journey of medications like a lot of people and I was on five different antidepressants in one year, so I would try one and then they'd say I'd say I'm having too many side effects and I'm a new mom, I'm like I can't.

At least that's been my experience and I've worked with quite a few women when it comes to anxiety from a hormonal perspective, and so many times doctors miss this because they're, you know, most traditionally trained doctors.

Look for, you know symptoms and treating the symptoms, but the causation doesn't always get tapped.

And I'm not anti-AMA as I say many times, I think we need to have doctors too, but there's a whole plethora of other things that we can do when it comes to anxiety and some of the other ills that we experience, especially as we begin to age, that can really help and will rule out pharmaceuticals, whatever it is that we might end up doing as a result of not knowing about these holistic practices.
